My name is Lance Kuehne (last name is pronounced "Keen").
It all started when...
My interest in the countryside long preceded my interest in photography. My earliest memory of Sonoma County was when I was about 12 years old, picking walnuts on a small farm on a late summer afternoon. There was an old farm house, an old water tower with beehives, and an ancient tractor that didn't have a steering wheel, only levers (and it still worked). Needless to say, I was hooked on this place and couldn't wait to leave the Central Valley where I grew up, to be in a beautiful place like Sonoma County.
Some things have changed since then, Sonoma County is almost exclusively known for its wine, not for things like walnuts. But having grown up in Lodi, vineyards are a familiar sight to me.
My love for photography grew in my late teenage years, but I never thought I'd ever do it for a living. I discovered that I have a talent for it quite by accident. I now get to combine my love of photography and my love of open spaces, and I take great pleasure in sharing these special places and my knowledge of photography with others. I hope you take the opportunity to join me and learn more about photography and some special places that most people never visit.
